These instructions have been changing from time to time based on security and other changes to the livestream platforms. If there are changes it will go out in an email. NOTE: if you are not receiving them fill out the form https://flcsm.org/sign-up-for-updates/ . The latest change was on April 4th.
We use two platforms for worship, Zoom and Facebook Live.
Facebook Live
Facebook Live is a one-way only process unlike Zoom. But it may be simpler for some. We use both in case one goes down on us. To access Facebook, you do NOT need to have a facebook account. You can simply go to https://www.facebook.com/firstlutheransmtx/ .
We will go live a few minutes before 10:30.
Zoom
Zoom is a videoconferencing program and allows for an interactive experience. You can see others (if they are sharing their camera) and we can have readers and worship participants from their homes. It isn’t like ‘being there’ but is closer than Facebook Live. It also has telephone function for those who do not have internet access.
Zoom can be a bit more complicated. The best route will be to click the link below, which has the password imbedded. If that does not work and you put the meeting ID in manually, you will also need the password. It is the church phone number, 3922064 .

You can join ahead of time. The meeting will be open by 10 am. If you are told you are in a “waiting room” that simply is part of Zoom’s new security process. You will be admitted as we are able to notice you. Once you join you should see a picture of the church building.
One important thing to do is remember to mute yourself if you are not trying to speak to everyone. Sharing video will be good to do if you are willing, because we can see each other engaging. We are all learning new stuff, and this is one of them.
Also, if you have two devices in the same room (perhaps two people watching separate iPads or phones): Having two devices in the same room causes bad interference and feedback if they both have sound on. This is not the same as being on “mute” in the settings. One volume needs to be down.
